HISTORY
I have been owned by Maine Coons since 1995 when I bought my first kittens as pets - Ursella Wandacoon (Merry), a blue bi-colour, and Ursella Tamaracoon (Pippin) a black smoke. They were soon followed by Shookatoo Uncle Sam (Sam), another black smoke.
I started and enjoyed showing and had some success with them, particularly Pippin who gained her Premier Title. Over the years the thought began to grow that I would love to breed these magnificent cats. Finally in 2005 this idea began to take shape when I bought my breeding girls, Cambric Venus, a black smoke, and Shookatoo Miss Money Penny, a tortoise shell and white.
Sadly Penny only reared one litter and is now happily neutered. Venus has been a very prolific breeder, producing very large litters, as have two of her daughters. Venus is now enjoying a well earned retirement. I have happily had six daughters and two granddaughters to follow her.
In 2008 Carramazza Serendipity joined the happy crew and in 2010 produced a lovely litter from which I have my first stud boy, Gilgalad, a silver tabby and white, who due to a lapse on my part, has the prefix Adecilo.
Most of my girls were solid colours, black smoke being my particular favourite, but as Gilgalad was a silver tabby and white my kittens were then a good mix of solid and tabby, with and without white.
I have, over the last few years, introduced Red into my lines, having taken some queens to a Red Tabby stud and a Cream Silver Shaded stud, resulting in several Tortie Tabbies and Tortie Smokes.
In April 2014, my new Stud, Carramazza Samgamgee, arrived aged 4 months. Sam has now retired but I now have a new stud boy, Mysticoon Strider and he has his own page which can be found by clicking the picture below.
My new Queens for 2020-21 are all of my own breeding, from Carramazza Samgamgee, and will be in kitten through the Autumn and Winter months. Some will go to a mature stud and others to my new stud boy, Mysticoons Strider, later in the Autumn. the Queens come in a wide range of colours: -
- Black Smoke and White
- Tortie Smoke
- Blue Silver Torties with White
- Blue Solid Tortie with White
- Silver Tabby and White
- Tortie Tabbies and White
All non-blue carry dilute as do both stud boys.
